Unmani Mudra

This practice enables the practitioner to focus away from the disturbances, that is, the attitude of mental chattering. This can be done as follows:

  1. Keep your eyes open. 
  2. Place a small point of attention in front of you for focusing your gaze. 
  3. Continue focusing on the point. Breath gently and slowly. Ensure that your mind is focused and does not wander.
  4. As you breath slowly and gradually start closing your eyes lids until they are more than half-closed.    
  5. Now transform the concentration into a gazing look. You will continue gazing at the spot until you are mindless and just aware.
  6. After some time you will find that you  are lost and just aware of the spot and finally you merge with it. By doing so you become one beyond the mind state of consciousness. This can be done for 5 to 10 minutes. 

Agochari Mudra

Agochari Mudra or Nose Tip Gazing Mudra: 

The Meditator is required to gaze at the nose-tip with complete awareness on breathing, postures and hand mudras. This technique induces the divine light to descend through the crown and down the chakras to awaken the kundalini.

The meditator is required to focus on three things: the nose-tip, the navel center and the breath. This is very useful way to help the meditator to be absorbed into one pointed awareness.

This also helps the meditator for Mindfulness and awareness Meditation. 

Brahma Mudra

All fingers locked mudra: This mudra requires maximum breath technique involving abdominal, chest and shoulder breathing altogether. All the fingers are placed over the thumbs while making a fist.  Then press both the hands together with knuckles touching and place the hands in the lap. This mudra is not recommended for the beginners.

Bhairava and Bhairavi Mudras

  • Relaxing Meditation Mudras: Bhairava and Bhairavi Mudras are done by meditators while relaxing or just letting go. When you want to maintain a meditative posture place your hands on the lap with right hand on top of left hand (Bhairava Mudra) or Left hand on top of right hand (Bhairavi Mudra). This mudra is done  without the purpose of awakening the forces of the auras. This is a classic hand position. 

Unmani Mudra (Mindlessness Mudra)

This is to help the meditator to focus away from the disturbances, especially the on going mental chattering.
1. Center your look on a small point of attention in front of you.
2. Continue looking on the point as you breath slowly and gently.
3. After sometime, reduce the gap between your eye lids slowly and gradually, until they are more than half-closed. Maintain this position.
4. Slowly and gradually transfer your concentration into a gazing look.
5. The above procedure will help you to attain a level that you are ‘lost’ and just aware of the spot. Finally you merge with the spot. By doing so you go beyond the mind state of consciousness. This can be done for 5-10 minutes.

Dhayani mudra with index fingers of both hands and thumb

In this mudra the tips of index fingers of both the hands are held together along with the tips of thumbs. This mudra is used to activate the upper chakras more than the lower chakras and also to activate the flow of more divine light. This mudra also has a continuous circulation of energies in the front and back meridians with a built-up of energy with more divine light.

Dhayani Mudra – Right Hand over Left Hand

This is considered as a symbol of enlightenment. This mudra releases the pranic energy instead of accumulating it, like in the other mudra i.e Left hand over the Right Hand. This mudra is useful if you want to release your stress energy or if you want to de-congest your stress energy. This Mudra will reduce your energy, if you are already depleted, it is not good for you.

Dhayani Mudra

In this mudra Left Hand is placed on Top of Right Hand and the Tips of the Thumbs Touching to form a circle whose center is in front of navel.
• This mudra circulates energy through the front and back meridians of all the energy chakras while meditating.
• This mudra also accumulates and assimilate internal energy in the navel area.
• The energy can be directed upward or downward by pointing thumbs in an upward or downward directions. This mudra also induces the flow of more divine light downward to the lower chakras.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anjali Mudra

The Anjali mudra higher forms:
i) Forehead Level: It awakens the meditator’s mind, by mental salutation to the spiritual Guru or God.
ii) At the Crown Center: As a salutation to a higher Divine Source. It also awakens Crown Chakra and Kundalini energy moving upward.
ii) At the Egoic Center or Higher: The Anjali mudra is placed above the crown chakra at the ego center or higher (full arm stretch). This is used to salute the omnipresent God, the creator of the Universe.
