Unmani Mudra (Mindlessness Mudra)

This is to help the meditator to focus away from the disturbances, especially the on going mental chattering.
1. Center your look on a small point of attention in front of you.
2. Continue looking on the point as you breath slowly and gently.
3. After sometime, reduce the gap between your eye lids slowly and gradually, until they are more than half-closed. Maintain this position.
4. Slowly and gradually transfer your concentration into a gazing look.
5. The above procedure will help you to attain a level that you are ‘lost’ and just aware of the spot. Finally you merge with the spot. By doing so you go beyond the mind state of consciousness. This can be done for 5-10 minutes.

This is considered as a symbol of enlightenment. This mudra releases the pranic energy instead of accumulating it, like in the other mudra i.e Left hand over the Right Hand. This mudra is useful if you want to release your stress energy or if you want to de-congest your stress energy. This Mudra will reduce your energy, if you are already depleted, it is not good for you.
